Composed of, flower and guns, this expression emerged in the 20th century. It refers to the confident and carefree soldiers of World War I who adorned their cannons with flowers during battles. The AK-47 Lotus large format screen print is inspired by the Vietnam War protesters who placed flowers in the barrels of National Guard rifles brought in to suppress their peace demonstrations.
